Lumpini Park Illuminated! TAT Hosts "The Night by Amazing Thailand" Art Event Under Royal Patronage
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is elevating creative tourism by inviting visitors to experience the enchantment of Thai arts at night with the "The Night by Amazing Thailand: Silk Threads in Moonlight" event. Running from January 27 to February 7, 2024, from 4:00-9:30 PM at Lumpini Park in Bangkok, the event will transform the city center into a vibrant nighttime cultural destination. The event aims to showcase the royal works of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit through immersive exhibitions, artisan crafts, a world-class "Moonlight Concert", and a unique KHON IN JAZZ performance. It reinforces Thai soft power and promotes the concept of night-time and experience-based tourism, enhancing Bangkok's and Thailand's image as a warm and sustainable tourist destination. The opening ceremony on January 29, 2024, will be presided over by Princess Ubolratana Rajakanya, with the Minister of Tourism and Sports and TAT Governor also in attendance. TAT Governor Thapanee emphasized the event's goal of creating meaningful travel experiences inspired by Queen Sirikit's legacy. The event will link art, culture, music, and technology to stimulate spending in local businesses and showcase Thai soft power through contemporary art, culture, and fashion. Highlights include an immersive exhibition honoring Queen Sirikit, featuring mixed-media displays of her royal works, from promoting handicrafts to elevating Thai textiles to international fashion icons.
