Police Arrest Teen in Fatal Phetkasem Road Shooting
Police in Phetchaburi province have arrested one of two suspects involved in a deadly shooting incident. The 17-year-old suspect, identified only as "Ko", was apprehended on the morning of January 30, 2026, in Moo 5 of Khao Yoi subdistrict. He is accused of participating in the murder of Thanarat Wonglai, 23, who was shot seven times on Phetkasem Road.
According to police, the suspects rode a dirt bike to follow the victim before launching the fatal attack. The suspect and his accomplice, known as "Oh" or "Plem", fled the scene after the shooting. During initial questioning, the arrested suspect provided inconsistent statements, claiming he was on the motorcycle but unaware of his friend's intention to shoot.
Investigators believe the shooting stemmed from a previous argument between the suspects and the victim, though the exact motive remains unclear. Police are continuing their investigation and are actively searching for the second suspect, whom they expect to capture soon.
